Acne Skin Care Regimen for Dry Skin

Dry skin can occur as a result of severely drying acne prescriptions along with the use of harsh over the counter cleansers and pimple treatments meant for oily skin or for teen acne. When acne occurs on dry skin, regardless of the cause, we set out to achieve a balance between keeping the skin clean, treating existing pimples and preventing future breakouts without removing vital moisture. For dry skin we recommend less aggressive acne spot treatments and encourage the use of gentle cleansing products and hydrating masks that are creamy and soothing. Gentle exfoliation is encouraged at times when there are no active acne eruptions on the skin.
