Acne Skin Care Regimen for Oily Skin

When oil glands are in overdrive, whether it is hormonal or just your overall skin type, the result is dull build up, blackheads and large pores.. Special precautions need to be taken to avoid stripping the moisture (oil) and hydration (water) from the skin and resulting in a top layer of rough, dry skin trapping clogged pores and oily bumps underneath.
A non-oil moisturizer is essential for keeping the top layer of skin hydrated and smooth as well as to balance out the effects of potentially drying acne treatments. A gentle exfoliation is recommended to remove the dulling build up from the skin’s surface yet needs to be avoiding during times of active acne eruptions. Avoid over cleansing, over scrubbing and excessive handling the skin, all factors which stimulate oil glands and spread bacteria which can worsen the problem.
