This lotion has saved my jaw line. I wish I would have known about this product when I was younger. I have tried salicylic acid and benzyol peroxide products which are way too harsh for my skin. Neither of those worked and were highly irritating to my skin. I am 30 now and get cystic acne on my jawline and neck. I rub a small amount on those areas and I hardly get any pimples there. I am not pimple free however the 1-3 much smaller ones I might get each month menstual cycle, is a great impovement. Oh, I use this every other night rotating it with the Vitamin C Serum.

The Buffering Lotion is the only thing that has worked with my hormonal acne. Even these little white bumps that eventually try to be cystic, this lotion helps so much! It actually lasts me a long time too even though the bottle is on the small side. Mario Badescu please try to make this in a larger size. Amazing product!

I have used alot of acne products and this product is great. I use it in the morning underneath my makeup and at night before bed. I have used prescription acne meds that dont work as well as this. Great buy/product for 17 dollars. Very calming and soothing to skin!

I get occasional cystic pimples which have been painful and difficult to manage in the past. After discovering this lotion, I no longer have to suffer. It decrease the size of them within 24 hrs and by 48 hrs they are dry.This buffering lotion is amazing.

| Amazing at reducing swelling |
This product does just what it claims to do. I use it at night on pimples and swollen whiteheads and when I wake up they are relieved of all pressure and lay flat. They are still slightly red, but the pain and the inflammation are gone. I use the drying cream in the morning to conceal any redness that is left and to continue the drying out process.

This is a fantastic preventative product. I use it daily, under my makeup, and it really prevents the large, cystic blemishes I used to get. I am hooked! I have had acne since I was a teenager, not horrible just some here and there pretty much all the time. Well, now I'm 39 and it has gotten worse, on my back also. Everything else I have tries just doesn't work for me or makes it worse...this is wonderful!!! It started to clear me face up overnight. My back is clearing up a little slower, but it's better. I just got the buffering lotion and the drying cream it just keeps getting better, along with that i also purchased the glycolic cleansing lotion, its only been a few days but im already seeing results, oh and i also got a sample of athe glycolic acid toner will see who that goes. I also purchased the acne facial cleanser! I know that now i have a full line of MB's products and i will use nothing else, if i could just get passed the sulfer smell but i think thats a small thing to get upset about, since i see the dramatic change in my face in just 2 weeks! I have had cystic acne since age 11.The painful kind.Now that I am 28 my skin is alot better, but I do get painful cystic breakouts on my jawline every month due to hormonal changes.I used the lotion last night on my jaw, and when I woke up this morning the swelling was gone, the irritation and pain was gone, and the pimples have alreay started to disapper.I am very happy with this product!

The lotion has tiny beads or scrubbing agents that remove oil and unclog pores without irritating my skin. It definitely helps to keep occasional acne at bay. I have oily skin and it removes oil without stripping the skin from esential moisture. Great under the drying mask when you feel really oily!

I am 17 and I have just started to use this and I have already seen a SIGNIFICANT change in my skin. I have had cystic acne for years.The only thing that ever kept it at bay was birth control.Lately even that did not do the trick. I gave this a try after reading the reviews. After one month of use I had no painful cyst show up even during my menstrual cycle. It is amazing to me something at this price can control cystic acne. I have never had a product work on it like this. Its nice I can try to get off the Birth control now. I like that this MB product does not have parabens. This product didn't really start working for me until about 2 weeks into trying it but afterwards, the results were tremendous. I have gotten compliments on my skin and while I still get breakouts - my skin is less oily and the breakouts are much less severe. Don't waste your time in the Dermatologist's office, just buy MB products! I love the healing and soothing cream as well as the spf 17 moisturizer.

I have been plagued with severe cystic acne ever since i was 17. My breakouts were very painful, they would leave my face so inflamed and sore it felt like I got hit in the face. The large bumps would stay there long after they healed. Over the counter and prescription treatments were useless because my pimples were very deep below the skin. I am amazed by this buffering lotion. It speeds up the healing process significantly. This is the only product ive tried were i have seen true results. My complexion has improved. This along the the drying mask are the only thing that have been able to control and keep the cystic acne away. I've been using it for a week and I've started getting compliments on how great my skin looks. I apply it at night before going to bed and also apply it in the morning after washing my face. I then apply my mositurizer and foundation. Before I started putting it on in the morning my chin would start feeling oily around 3pm and the past few days my skin looks radiant and not shiny. I recommend this to everyone. The product does have a medicinal smell but I happen to like that smell. The product that smell takes some getting use to is the drying mask which I use along with this product. Wish I'd had this product with I was a teenager.

to describe how happy I am with this product! I can't say enough good about it. I have pretty good skin for the most part, but it's very oily and as a result I get cystic pimples all the time. I've been plagued by them for years and I've tried everything. Nothing worked...until I discovered this product. I was a little skeptical at first, but with all these great reviews I figured "What the heck..."
I put a little on at night and I was AMAZED with what I saw just 8 hours later...it was almost gone, and in just one use! It used to take weeks to go away with my old acne creams. It would hurt and blister. This stuff is amazing, it works wonders.
I have hyper sensitive skin and most acne products are really harsh and pretty much kill my skin. Even though this product is so potent and effective, I have no problem using it this product even with my terribly sensitive skin. It does, however, dry me out a little bit, but if you just really moisturize the spot your treating with this stuff it's ok. Besides, I'm more than willing to put up with a few dry spots for a few days then spend weeks with a painful and ugly cystic pimple!
But this stuff now, it's SO worth the money. You can't put a price on a like this, it's incredible!

This is the ONLY product that will prevent and treat cystic acne, and believe me, I've tried them all, including prescription meds. The best I could do before trying this product was to dry out the skin terribly and hope it didn't look too horrific while it sort-of healed. Using the buffering lotion, I'll have the cyst for less than a week as compared to months if left untreated, and there is absolutely no drying or scarring. Absolutely the best!

I don't get cystic acne that often, but when I do, it's really bad. The cysts get huge and are so painful. I've tried other topical treatments with no real success. this week i had a terrible cyst on my chin that i could tell was just going to go out of control, so i searched on the internet and i found some reviews about this product. I didn't think it would work but I was desperate to stop it from getting worse, so I went and picked a bottle up right away. It started to get smaller the first night and was way less painful. I've been using it for 3 days so far and it's been shrinking away. I think it would have been more effective if I'd been able to use it right when I felt it starting. I felt another big cyst on my back the same day i bought this and used it immediately and that one was quicker to go down. Although it works slower than I'd like, it does work very well and I've found it to not be drying at all even when I've used it every day instead of every other day like the directions suggest.

I am 38 and have had cystic acne under my jawline for a few yrs. now, however, the rest of my skin is pretty clear. I have tried EVERYTHING to clear the cysts up, but nothing kept them away for good. As soon as I started using this, the cysts shrunk. I am a HUGE skeptic, but this stuff works! It doesn't dry my skin out or irritate it, either. I love love love this product. I am definitly a product junkie and have tried everything from perscriptions to over the counter, and this is the first time I can say something actually works. My only advice with this product is to use it sparingly and as directed. I was a little overzealous the first time I used it and applied it twice a day for 3 days and it dried out my skin too much. Now I use it exactly as the bottle directs and it works wonderfully.

I had seen these products on magazines for a very long time now. But i never made a purchase because i asumed that because of the price, it must of not be good. Well i was wrong. This buffering lotion does what it says it will do. I started to have really bad cystic acne around mi chin. I went to the dermatologist and she put me on hormone blockers and a cream to dry them up. 2 months later.....the same thing. I finally saw an add again about Mario Badescu and i decided to give it a try. :) It is great, what the cream the dermatologist gave me could not do in 2 months this cream did it in less than a week. I have now purcahsed a whole skin regimen, its great.

This really, really works. Believe me, I've suffered from cystic acne for years and have tried EVERYTHING else out there, from drugstore creams and lotions to expensive prescription products. This stuff works much better than all of it, more quickly, and doesn't leave my skin all red, scaly and burnt-looking. It's keeping the huge, painful cysts away, and the few that do start to pop up, disappear overnight if I hit them with the combo of Buffering Lotion and Drying Mask. I've been using the Buffering Lotion since April, 2007 and I have to say my chin is looking better than it has in over 20 years-because in keeping those cystic volcanoes away,it is preventing new scarring.It is also working on the smaller,non-cystic bumps that won't respond to BP that crop up occasionally in other parts of my face.I find this product SO soothing to put on,it doesn't hurt my dry/oily/ sensitive face,it doesn't dry,it just works! I've had much success in keeping the horribly painful cysts away by using it all month long,and am still on my first bottle! Please try this if you have cysts!!!

I have struggled with cystic acne for 10+ years and this lotion helps to soothe, reduce and eventually remove deep cystic acne. It will not dry out your skin so you aren't left with that super tight dry skin feeling after using it, but it does give off a very strong astringent odor - not offensive, but strong. MB recommends applying every other night, but I use it faithfully every night and I can always see an improvement by morning. I adore all of the acne-fighting products from Mario Badescu - they've been a God-send to this thirty-something gal and are truly effective. The descriptions with each product are real, not promotional.

I live in Salt Lake City where there's no Mario Badescu store and I also don't read woman/celebrity magazines - so it took me a while to finally meet any of Mario Badescu's great products. I started using the buffer lotion (together with the drying lotion/cream/mask) about 6 months ago, and my breakout (which had bothered me for years and cost me thousands of dollar and grief) was immediately improved the minute I put MB's acne products on, and was cleared in a week. I now use them occasionally, when there's a sign that a breakout is about to start.; I've found that, when used early, a combination of the buffer lotion and the drying lotion/cream is sufficient to get rid of any "pending" breakout within a day or two. So I haven't had any visible breakout for the longest period that I can remember. My daily routine includes: the glycolic foaming cleanser, special cucumber lotion, oil-free moisturizer (SOF 17) (AM), oil-free A.H.A. & Ceramide Moisturizer (AM), the oil-free Seaweed Night Cream (PM) and the Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream (PM). Together they've improved my fine lines, kept my skin hydrated, and minimized breakout. I'm 35 and proud of telling people my real age; I am often mistook for a student on campus (I teach), and my skin is as good as, or even better than, students in their 20's. So, yes, these products do work!

After having perfect skin in high school, I developed cystic acne when I was 27. I'm 32 and just started to have an acne problem. Most of my acne is cystic, bumps under the skin that hurt and take forever to go away. I've tried benzoyl peroxide products but they dry my skin out and don't do anything. My dermatologist gave me a prescription for clindamycin lotion - didn't work. So I tried the buffering lotion. After 1 month, I have hardly NO acne! It really is amazing. I have very sensitive skin (dry, some eczema, and allergies) but I can put this on twice a day and have no problems. This gets rid of the cystic acne, and the whiteheads that crop up here and there. Give it a try!!

I just read the rest of the reviews for Buffering Lotion and feel hopeful for the first time in months. I suffer from cystic volcanoes on my chin, typically every other month. This month was so bad I decided to visit a new dermatologist to see if she had any new solutions. Nope. I could either take a daily oral medication to keep hormones at bay or use a topical solution to prevent infection. Nothing to fight or soothe the painful volcanoes other than a special, costly visit for a cortisone shot.
Happily, I already have some MB Buffering Solution on hand. And, after reading of other people's success with it for "my" problem, I marched right into my bathroom and applied some to my itching, hurting chin. It feels calmer already.
I'm excited to see how it helps me. Thanks to everyone for sharing. It helped to know I'm not the only one with Mt. Rainier on her chin.

I have had trouble with cystic acne all my life. Luckily I usually only get a one or two a month at that "special time" and they crop up one at a time. Then I got pregnant, and my hormones went nuts.... and so did the enormous, deeply seated, angry-red, "volcanos" that not only came in groups but were dime sized or even bigger all over my face, neck, chest, and shoulders. HIDEOUS! They took 2 weeks to resolve on their own, left red marks for 2 weeks after that, and I literally would not leave the house for fear of frightening children. I tried this product out of desperation. I wish I had gotten desperate LONG before now. Buffering lotion is MAGIC! I had my doubts - how could a thin liquid be effective against cysts that start so deep and get so nasty? I don't care HOW it works, I just know it works, and NOTHING I mean NOTHING else ever has. And my OB approved of it for use during pregnancy, which means it is safe enough to be used just about anytime for anyone.

On May 16th, i developed a zit on my chin that perhaps after attempting to fix myself, turned into a Cystic zit. I hauled myself to the Mario Badescu on 52nd street and today, May 21st, i am happy to say the bump is gone and all i have left is a faint red mark. The mark is MUCH more faint that it would have been has i not used the buffering lotion and just picked at it. It never had to become a scab - the zit itself shruk tremendously overnight left alone being pretty much gone on 3 days later. I am SO Happy i have it and feel much better about the next time i feel one growing on my face.

I decided to try this product after reading other testimonials and I'm so glad that I did! This product is as effective as getting a cortizone shot! I have used this item once before, when I had a bout of bad breakouts a few years ago and nothing - I mean NOTHING else worked. This time, I am pregnant, and I don't want to use anything with salicylic acid. I broke out all over my face. I have tried many products, including pro-activ! And none of them worked for my cystic acne. Ever since I bought this I have not had one cystic pimple! I cannot believe it. What I do, is I put a layer of it over my face at night after I wash (enyzyme cleansing gel)and tone (special cucumber lotion). The combination together, I have been cystic free since I started this. I also received samples of the healing cream (to heal up those brown-red marks they leave) and I have been putting that over my face after everything at night as well. Then during the day I just wash my face, then tone, and wear my foundation! My face is getting better every day, I can't wait to see what it is going to look like in a couple of months! Thanks!

This does everything it claims to and more. It almost eliminated the oil my skin was producing daily altogether. This is turn kept blackhead from being formed and brealouts from occurring. It really does reduce redness. I noticed a few weeks after using it my skin was actually healing over old acne scars from 15+ years ago. Unbelievable!! Worth its weight in gold!

It is hard to find a product for cysts. I was skeptical. But it works! I'm addicted to it. It is very gentle, nondrying, and soothing. It penetrates the skin, getting deep into the cyst. I don't have as many cysts now, but I have to have it in my cabinet!

I have been plagued with cystic acne on my chin for 5 years. 3 weeks ago I cut caffeine, sugars, saturated/trans fats, and switched to whole wheat pastas/breads, which are thought to be causes of cystic acne. I felt healthier, but I was still getting new cystic acne. I just received my buffering lotion 5 days ago. Since I started using this product, my face doesn't hurt or itch, and the redness is almost gone. My cystic pimples are going away and I have not had one new cystic pimple form.

wow this stuff is amazing! ive had cyctic acne on my left cheeck since high school (im 23) and this is the ONLY stuff to get rid of it. its 75% gone and ive been using this for a week. i did use some other MB products before ordering this one so im sure that helped, but major clearing happend after the buffering lotion became part of my daily beautification ritual. my face doesnt hurt anymore and the redness has cleared considerably. thanks mario! woot woot!

| An absolute godsend! |
This product is an absolute godsend. I used to suffer from cystic acne and anything I tried just would not help. I almost decided I had to learn to live with these painful, horrible inflamations that cropped up every month or so on my chin. Until I found this buffering lotion, that is. As soon as I feel one forming below my skin, I douse it with the buffering lotion and reapply for a couple days, and it's gone before it is even visible to the eye. I can't imagine not having this product on hand at all times.
