What is best to use to help fade sun spots on top of cheeks, top lip and a few minor dark spots left from old blemishes? I do not have breakouts anymore, just dark marks left?...Read Response (asked by Blair T. of Unknown) |

The best products to help fade sun spots always begin with using at least a moderate SPF of 15 or higher to protect your skin from further discoloration. Since the air has been slightly colder and you are no longer breaking out, I would recommend the Collagen Moisturizer (SPF-15) for daily moisture and sun protection. For a moisturizer with a higher SPF choice, use the Suncare (SPF-30) moisturizer daily for maximum sun protection. Use the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week at night only to gently exfoliate and deep clean skin to promote cell turnover to even out the dark spots. Alternate with the Almond and Honey Face Scrub 2-3 times a week to mildly slough off surface dull skin to soften skin and improve skins texture. Lastly, the Whitening Mask should be used 2-3 times a week for 5-10 minutes to brighten and even out skin tone. Consistent use will help to discourage any hyper-pigmentation from further discoloration.

I live in Utah where the air is always SUPER dry. Winter is coming on and it also gets very cold. Added to that, the air here in the valley from Salt Lake to Provo is always very smoggy and polluted. As a result, I always have problems with acne around my chin, forehead, and the corners of my nose. My forehead has a problem with small bumps. The corners of my nose will sometimes develop whiteheads. My chin is much like my forehead and it will also get small bumps. From the cold and the dry air, my cheeks get extremely dry and flakey. Even after using moisturizer, they are dry and flakey just a couple of hours later. I need the ultimate skin care regimen. What can I do?...Read Response (asked by Cody W. of Provo, UT) |

Since we are in the middle of the winter season and you live in a climate where the air is always dry it is important to use a gentle cleansing hydrating regimen to keep the skin moisturized. I would recommend using the Orange Cleansing Soap twice daily as a mild cream based cleanser. It contains orange extract to discourage dull skin build up and keeps the skin feeling soft and clean. Follow with the alcohol free, witch hazel based Seaweed Cleansing Lotion morning and night to help nourish and disinfect the skin. With the cold weather contributing to further dry, flakey skin, I would suggest using one of our protective day creams instead of a regular moisturizer. Protective day creams contain less water content and offers optimal protection from cold temperatures and harsh winds. Use the cold weather Orange Protective Cream daily on dry areas to prevent skin from becoming dehydrated. The orange extract helps to promote mild exfoliation to discourage dull skin build up. To keep skin nourished, use a weekly hydrating mask for 15-20 minutes such as the Enzyme Revitalizing Mask to keep skin soft and hydrated. Gently exfoliate your skin with the Almond & Honey Face Scrub 2-3 times a week to slough off flakey skin on the surface to prevent clogged pores and small bumps. Before bedtime, apply the Seaweed Night Cream, a non-greasy, oil-free night cream enriched with Seaweed, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid to soften, hydrate and nourish the skin without clogging pores. This night cream will leave the skin feeling soft and silky. For the occasional surfaced whitehead pimples that you experience, the Drying Lotion will help to dry it up overnight. The most effective spot treatment for deep bumps is the sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a light, liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes.

I am allergic to strawberries and would like to know what other scrubs you have to take the place of your Strawberry Scrub. ...Read Response (asked by Alison C. of Collierville, TN) |

Since you are allergic to strawberries, I would recommend the Almond & Honey Face Scrub. It is made with finely ground almonds and cornmeal combined with honey to buff away flaky skin without causing irritation. Gently massage on wet skin 2-3 times a week to slough off surface dullness to reveal softer, more radiant skin.

For the most part my skin is pretty good. I’m 34 and fair skinned, with my skin occasionally prone to small whiteheads in the nose/chin area, but otherwise I’m fairly dry. My biggest concern is clogged pores on my nose. I’ve started using your Seaweed Soap Cleanser followed by the Honey Moisturizer and I am very happy with the results. Can you suggest anything for the clogged pores?...Read Response (asked by Delaney M. of Unknown) |

Since your biggest concern is clogged pores on your nose along with some small whiteheads, use the kaolin based Flower & Tonic Mask twice a week on your t-zone to discourage blackheads. It will help to absorb oil and impurities from pores as it calms and soothes sensitive skin types. On alternating days, use the mild Almond & Honey Face Scrub to exfoliate surface dullness and prevent any congestion. It is made with finely ground almond and cornmeal combined with honey to buff away flaky skin without irritating.
