I am currently using the Enzyme Cleansing Gel alternated with the Cream Soap in the mornings, Seaweed Cleansing Lotion and the Control Cream. I live in the dry desert and have dehydrated skin, but with an oily T-zone. I have to use the Control Cream because when I stop using it, I will get itchy, red spots on different parts of my face. I like how thick it is because it feels like it is giving me hydration, but I need something that is a bit lighter to use during the daytime in the summer. I cannot use anything with a sunscreen as the chemicals in them give me a rash. What would you suggest to be a good alternative or add-on to the Control Cream? PS I have very fair skin, but it has a bit of redness from past harsh acne treatments....Read Response (asked by Alison A) |

We’re glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying the Control Cream, one of our most popular products for sensitive skin. If you’re looking for a slightly lighter alternative for the summer season but you’re sensitive to sunscreen I would recommend using the Buttermilk Moisturizer to offer lightweight moisture daily. It contains Azulene, a derivative of chamomile, to calm and soothe sensitive skin types. You can still continue to a little of the Control Cream as needed on the flaky areas of redness underneath the Buttermilk Moisturizer.

So many of the products say avoid the eye area. Can you tell me which products are safe around the eyes? My upper eyelids are one of my biggest problems. They become puffy and scaly so I am tempted to put a moisturizer on them....Read Response (asked by Martha N. of Bellingham, WA) |

All of the eye creams are safe to use around the eye area along with select items as the Cellufirm Drops which helps to diminish fine lines. If you have a bit of dry, flaky skin on the upper eyelid area, you may apply a very small amount of the Control Cream on it. It will help to moisturize, calm and soothe redness and flakiness. Balsam Peru is the active, soothing botanical ingredient that will make a visible difference immediately upon application.

I was wondering if you can help me with picking out any products for my eczema condition. My eczema developed after I turned 30 and it is around my elbows. It is extremely dry and flaky. When I am sleeping, I do not realize that I am scratching it so hard that often times I find them bleeding the next morning. I started to use a sugar scrub in the shower and stopped putting lotion and hydrocortizone on it after the shower. I do notice that it is better but now it is white and flaky looking. Are there any products that I can use whether in the shower, after shower and/or at moments when it is irritating? A scrub, lotion, type of ointment? Your help will be greatly appreciated....Read Response (asked by Esther of Unknown) |

Eczema is a skin condition involving superficial inflammation of the skin primarily affecting the epidermis that causes dryness, itching and red rashes which are often coupled with a scaly surface. The severity of the condition may vary for each individual. Eczema is a skin condition that must be diagnosed by a dermatologist. If you are experiencing extremely dry, flaky skin, using emollients will protect the skin from water loss which helps to prevent dryness. By providing a barrier, the skin is less dry, itchy and flaky. I would recommend the following soothing products to help offer intense moisture and calming relief. Start by using the Seaweed Bubble Bath And Shower Gel in the shower to cleanse and soften skin. This seaweed based gel contains sesame oil to nourish and moisturize the skin. After showering, apply the Super Rich Olive Body Lotion to seal in moisture, leaving skin soft and silky. Every morning, apply the Control Cream on any dry, rough, flaky areas such as your elbows. This Salicylic Acid based formulation may be used before bedtime as an intense treatment to alleviate discomfort.

If you have been diagnosed with Rosacea, it is important to keep your regimen extremely simple since the skin can be very delicate. When selecting a skin care regimen, it is important to choose mild products to help visibly reduce redness, even out skin tone, and smooth overall skin texture. Consistent use will offer optimal skin care results. Our priority is to help you achieve and maintain healthy, radiant skin. We would recommend using the Cream Soap suggested for mild cleansing of delicate skin. Follow with the Chamomile Cleansing Lotion to instantly soothe dry, sensitive skin. Chamomile Extract is a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient that helps to calm skin immediately. The Control Cream is enriched with Balsam Peru, a tree bark extract that soothes and reduces redness and irritation on the skin. This protective cream may be used morning and night to effectively moisturize and to calm sensitive skin. Enriched with skin-soothing botanicals, use the Calma Mask 2-3 times a week for 15 minutes to alleviate irritation and redness. In areas of extreme inflammation, apply a thin layer of the Control Cream underneath the mask.

A friend of mine turned me on to your site. I was interested in your rosacea line and I was wondering if I could try a few samples. I have rosacea slightly in my cheeks which people always comment what nice color I have, but I hate it. If I’m too hot at work my face feels like it’s on fire.
