Q: Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
A:  Yes, our skin care line is made with natural botanical and plant extracts and is safe for use during pregnancy. If you are experiencing hormonal breakouts, please contact one of our consultants (212)223-3728, for a customized regimen to benefit your skin. You may consider avoiding the sun during pregnancy. The hormones released during pregnancy may heighten the pigmentation on your skin, which may potentially lead to Melasma also known as "the pregnancy mask".

Q: Do you have any products for Rosacea?
A:  Rosacea is a chronic skin condition involving persistent facial flushing that can resemble a sunburn. In more advanced stages, it can evolve into serious eruptions with papules, pustules and cysts. Avoid choosing products that contain Alpha Hydroxy, Alcohol or Glycolic Acid. The most beneficial regimen from our skin care line would be our Cream Soap, Chamomile Cleansing Lotion, Control Cream, Azulene Calming Mask or Calma Mask.

Q: What is the Drying Lotion?
A:  The Drying Lotion is an excellent spot treatment made with a blend of Calamine and Salicylic Acid to dry pimples and soothe surfaced whiteheads overnight.

Q: How do I apply the Drying Lotion?
A:  Do not shake the bottle. Dip a cotton swab into the pink sediment. Apply by placing a dab on to surfaced whitehead/pimple and let dry over night. In the morning, gently rinse with warm water to remove the solution.

Q: Are your products tested on animals?
A:  We do not test our products on animals. Mario Badescu uses only natural botanical ingredients with minimal preservatives to ensure that we deliver the highest quality products to our customers. Our products are tested and developed in a laboratory environment to ensure the highest standards of production.

Q: What age is it safe for a child to start using Mario Badescu products?
A:  Generally, we would recommend using our products during the puberty stage. During the early teenage years, the body produces more hormones which cause your oil glands to become more active, ultimately leading to blackheads and pimples. A daily regimen is recommended, although in some cases, even pre-pubescent youngters may benefit from a basic regimen.

Q: Do I need to use a sunscreen everyday, even if I'm indoors for most of the day?
A:  Yes, it is very important to use a daily sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 even if your daily sun exposure is minimal. The cumulative effects of the sun can increase your potential for hyper-pigmentation and premature wrinkles. If you already suffer from dark spots and discoloration, we would recommend using an SPF 30 daily.

Q: Why is it important to use an eye cream?
A:  The delicate skin around the eye area has very few oil glands, therefore it is beneficial to apply an eye cream daily to keep it hydrated. This will help to reduce dryness and puffiness while it minimizes fine lines/wrinkles.

Q: What is the general shelf life of the products?
A:  Our products are made with natural botanical and plant extracts which contain minimal preservatives. Since our products are made with the freshest ingredients, the general shelf life is 6-8 months for most products while our astringents/toners usually last up to one year.

Q: Can I use Mario Badescu products with other acne medications?
A:  Generally, you can safely use our Mario Badescu products with other acne medications. However, we do recommend that you consult with one of our skin specialists regarding product compatibility. For personalized advice call (212) 223-3728.

Q: How long will it take before I see results?
A:  It usually takes approximately 6-8 weeks if not sooner, to see results. Depending upon your skin type, reaction time may vary. However, consistent use of one of our customized regimens will definately result in visible improvements.

Q: What can I do if I suffer from dark spots or acne scarring?
A:  Hyper pigmentation refers to patchy discoloration in the skin. It is a common problem for those who have had excessive sun exposure or hormonal changes during pregnancy. Uneven skin tone may also be a result of acne scarring. Using products that contain Alpha Hydroxy acid, Salicylic acid or Glycolic Acids will help to effectively diminish dark spots. We highly recommend using an SPF 30 daily for optimal sun protection.

Q: How do I choose which spot treatment to use for my breakouts?
A:  If you are experiencing blemishes that come up to the surface to a whitehead, choose the Drying Lotion as an overnight spot treatment. If your blemishes are deeper blemishes that are more cystic, apply the Buffering Lotion to help heal the area at night.

Q: Do any of your ingredients require the use of sun protection?
A:  Whenever you are using any products that contain Alpha Hydroxy or Glycolic Acid, we recommend protecting your skin with a minimum of SPF 15 daily. However, if you doctor has prescribed Retin-A or if you suffer from hyper-pigmentation, we recommend using SPF 30 instead.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Money Order, and Checks (US dollars only). Make checks payable to Mario Badescu Skin Care and mail to 320 East 52nd Street, New York, NY 10022. Do not forget to add shipping. Orders are processed once checks clear in approximately 10 days.

Q: What are the shipping and handling costs?
A: Standard domestic shipping and handling rates:
     $4.95 for sales totaling $1 - $60
     $6.95 for sales totaling $60-$100
     $8.50 for sales totaling $100 & up

Q: Are there shipping options to expedite my order?
A: Domestic orders may be shipped 2-day UPS or Fed Ex with rates starting at $15.00 or overnight with rates starting at $25.00. Shipping rates will vary based on package weight and zip code. Overnight service is not available in all zip codes.

Q: I've placed an order online, when can I expect to receive it?
A: Web orders usually arrive with in 7-10 business days within the continental USA. International order shipments can take 1-2 weeks or more depending on the destination. Orders are shipped from our Edison, NJ location.

Q: I filled the skin analysis online, when should I expect to receive my samples?
A: It can take up to 5 weeks to receive your sample regimen. Samples are sent via the USPS. If you do not receive your products, please visit the contact us page and select "Products & General Information" drop down and submit your inquiry there. We appreciate your patience.

Q: I've made a mistake placing my order online, who do I contact to fix it?
A: Call (212) 223-3728 to speak to a customer service representative or email your request to orders@mariobadescu.com. Orders that have been processed and shipped can not be changed. Most orders ship the following business day.

Q: Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
A: Yes, we do ship to P.O. boxes as well as APO/FPO via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS)

Q: What is the return/exchange policy?
A: We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. For products purchased directly from Mario Badescu, returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of the purchase date (shipping and handling not included). Products should be securely packaged and shipped back to Mario Badescu Return Department – 120 McGaw Drive – Edison, NJ 08837. Please include a note if you would like a refund, exchange or Mario Badescu credit.

We apologize but we can not accept returns or exchanges for products purchased from a retail or department store. Please contact the retailer for their return policy.

Q: Does Mario Badescu ship outside the USA
A: Yes, Mario Badescu can ship all over the world with very few exceptions. Customers are required to pay any duties or taxes upon arrival of the order into the country. If goods are refused, the purchaser is still accountable for the shipping fees incurred. Shipping rates begin at 25 for most international orders. Please email info@mariobadescu.com for any international shipping inquiries. You may also visit our store locator for local retailers in your country. To find out shipping costs, add your selected products to your shopping cart and fill out the shipping form. Once that is complete you will see the total price of your order before you complete the checkout process.

Q: Why can't I receive my password?
A: In most cases your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may be blocking our emails from coming through to you. If you wish to recieve our emails, please contact your ISP. You can also add us to your contact list to help ensure you get what you requested. Our biggest blocks have been happening by AOL.

Q: Where are my sample products?
A: Due to high volumes of orders a few will get over looked in the system. If you have questions about where your orders may be or why you haven't received them, please visit the contact us page and select the "Products & General Information" selection and send your question.

Q: How do I update my account?
A: Click the Products button and select the "Log In" link. Once you have logged in, you will see an "Account" button next to the "Log Out" button. Here you can update you bill to or ship to address or update you password and email address.

Q: Is there a place for me to sign up for new products and events?
A: Yes. If you go to our home page and scroll down to the bottom, you will see a section labeled, "Products & Events". Here you can sign yourself up to receive information about our new products and receive emails about events that are happening in your area. If you are a new customer, you will be emailed a temporary password, which you can use to log in with. We suggest changing your password. If you do not receive your password within 10 min, please check your spam folder to make sure it has not been placed in there.

Q: How do I unsubscribe from your list?
A: If you are receiving unwanted emails and you would like to be removed from the list, please open the emails and click the unsubscribe button located in the email. This will ensure that you are automatically removed from our list. If no link is provided please go to the contact us page and select "Website Issues" and provide the email address you originally signed up with, your first name, last name and address to ensure we have the right person to remove from our email list.
