Hi. I would like to check what products I should use if I have sensitive and oily skin. I see that the product like your Cucumber Lotion has alcohol content in it which is not suitable for my sensitive red skin. Please advise on any other suitable alternatives/substitutes. Thanks! ...Read Response (asked by Huiyi H. of Unknown) |

For oily, sensitive skin, I would recommend using a mild regimen to gently clean skin while it controls excess oil output. First, I would use the Enzyme Cleansing Gel twice daily. This non-foaming, gel cleanser thoroughly removes daily make-up, dirt and oil without drying the skin. Papaya Extracts are exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids that helps prevent dulling build-up that can cause blackheads and pimples. Follow with the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion. This is a non-drying, alcohol-free toner that cleans and disinfects dry and sensitive skin. Mild Witch Hazel formula removes pore clogging debris while Aloe Extract soothes sensitive areas. Use the Control Moisturizer For Oily Skin daily. This oil-free moisturizer will soften and soothe oily, sensitive skin. Balsam Peru based moisturizer absorbs quickly and reduces redness upon application. Prevent pores from clogging by using the Flower & Tonic Mask 1-2 times a week on the t-zone. This is a combination purifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin types. The Kaolin based formula absorbs dirt and oil from pores while the soothing, botanical Balsam Peru ingredient soothes minor redness and irritation.

I would like to know what products I could use for my big, deep visible pores....Read Response (asked by Angela F. of Dix Hills, NY) |

If you have large, visible pores, I would recommend using the Temporary Lifting Mask 2-3 times a week for 5 minutes. It will tighten and temporarily minimize the size of the pores for a more smooth and flawless look. I would also recommend using the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week at night only to deep clean skin and promote cell turnover. It will gently exfoliate surface dull skin to even out skin tone, reduce pore size and improve overall texture of the skin.

I am a repeat Mario Badescu customer, and I currently use the Enzyme Cleanser, Glycolic Cleanser twice a week, Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and AHA and Ceramide Moisturizer. I have had problem skin in the past that is now under control due to prescriptions and your products. The only problem I have left is that I use Retin A 5 times a week and now that the weather is colder, sensitive areas of my skin sill dry out very easily. I will sometimes wake up w/very flaky skin, and no matter how much moisturizer I use, it remains flaky for a day or two. Can you recommend a moisturizer that I can either wear at night w/my prescription product, or a day time moisturizer that might help the flakiness without being problematic for my oily T-zone?...Read Response (asked by Katelyn Q. of Chicago, IL) |

Based on the information that you have provided regarding your skin type, I would recommend that you use the Seaweed Night Cream as on oil-free moisturizer before bedtime. Then as a daytime choice you may consider the Aloe Moisturizer (SPF-15). It is an oil-free moisturizer that helps to soothe sensitive, dry skin without clogging pores. I would also suggest the Herbal Hydrating Serum. It is an oil-free hydrating gel that can be applied on top of your moisturizer for an extra hydrating boost of moisture. This change should help reduce the dry, flakiness you are experiencing. If however, you still feel dry after adding these products, I would recommend changing your toner from the Cucumber Cleansing Lotion to the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion for the winter season. It is an alcohol free, witch hazel based toner that will remove oil and impurities without drying the skin.

I am allergic to strawberries and would like to know what other scrubs you have to take the place of your Strawberry Scrub. ...Read Response (asked by Alison C. of Collierville, TN) |

Since you are allergic to strawberries, I would recommend the Almond & Honey Face Scrub. It is made with finely ground almonds and cornmeal combined with honey to buff away flaky skin without causing irritation. Gently massage on wet skin 2-3 times a week to slough off surface dullness to reveal softer, more radiant skin.

I am new to Mario Badescu. I have started using the Botanical Facial Gel, Cucumber Cleansing Lotion, Flower and Tonic Mask, and the Oil-Free Moisturizer. I have combo skin and very large pores. Is it possible to reduce the size of pores? How do you do it and what products would you suggest?...Read Response (asked by Nikki R. of Bloomington, IN) |

It sounds like you are already using the best products for combination/oily skin from our skin care line. Although, there is no way to permanently reduce the size of large pores, I can recommend the following products to help minimize the appearance of large pores. Use the Temporary Lifting Mask 2-3 times a week for 5-7 minutes to help tighten pores and give the skin a more refined, flawless look. Formulated with egg albumin reveals a tighter pore and firmer, refreshed skin. Also contains soothing Calamine so this mask is ideal for any skin type looking for a quick boost for that special occasion. Then use the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week at night instead of the Botanical Facial Gel. It will deep clean and remove dead skin build-up by improving overall texture as it minimizes the appearance of larger pores.
