I recently had a facial and the esthetician advised me to start thinking about anti-aging products, particularly those w/collagen for fine lines on my forehead. Can you recommend a moisturizer - both for day and a night cream - that would address this issue? My skin is dry and not particularly sensitive....Read Response (asked by Katelyn Q of aging, anti-aging, face, dry) |

In the winter I have patches of dry skin on my forehead above each eyebrow. It flakes and peels like a sunburn. It doesn’t itch, it’s just mainly annoying. Do you have a product that might help?...Read Response (asked by Lynn S. of Ashtabula, OH) |

If you have dry patches on your forehead and above each eyebrow, I would recommend using a little of the Control Cream. Our famous anti-redness cream is an effective treatment for dry, flaky and irritated skin types. This product will help to alleviate any patches of dryness on your skin.

So many of the products say avoid the eye area. Can you tell me which products are safe around the eyes? My upper eyelids are one of my biggest problems. They become puffy and scaly so I am tempted to put a moisturizer on them....Read Response (asked by Martha N. of Bellingham, WA) |
|
All of the eye creams are safe to use around the eye area along with select items as the Cellufirm Drops which helps to diminish fine lines. If you have a bit of dry, flaky skin on the upper eyelid area, you may apply a very small amount of the Control Cream on it. It will help to moisturize, calm and soothe redness and flakiness. Balsam Peru is the active, soothing botanical ingredient that will make a visible difference immediately upon application.

I am a repeat Mario Badescu customer, and I currently use the Enzyme Cleanser, Glycolic Cleanser twice a week, Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and AHA and Ceramide Moisturizer. I have had problem skin in the past that is now under control due to prescriptions and your products. The only problem I have left is that I use Retin A 5 times a week and now that the weather is colder, sensitive areas of my skin sill dry out very easily. I will sometimes wake up w/very flaky skin, and no matter how much moisturizer I use, it remains flaky for a day or two. Can you recommend a moisturizer that I can either wear at night w/my prescription product, or a day time moisturizer that might help the flakiness without being problematic for my oily T-zone?...Read Response (asked by Katelyn Q. of Chicago, IL) |

Based on the information that you have provided regarding your skin type, I would recommend that you use the Seaweed Night Cream as on oil-free moisturizer before bedtime. Then as a daytime choice you may consider the Aloe Moisturizer (SPF-15). It is an oil-free moisturizer that helps to soothe sensitive, dry skin without clogging pores. I would also suggest the Herbal Hydrating Serum. It is an oil-free hydrating gel that can be applied on top of your moisturizer for an extra hydrating boost of moisture. This change should help reduce the dry, flakiness you are experiencing. If however, you still feel dry after adding these products, I would recommend changing your toner from the Cucumber Cleansing Lotion to the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion for the winter season. It is an alcohol free, witch hazel based toner that will remove oil and impurities without drying the skin.

A family member told me about your rosacea products. I have tried everything and nothing works. ...Read Response (asked by Cathy C. of Deer Park, OH) |

If you have been diagnosed with Rosacea, it is important to keep your regimen extremely simple since the skin can be very delicate. When selecting a skin care regimen, it is important to choose mild products to help visibly reduce redness, even out skin tone, and smooth overall skin texture. Consistent use will offer optimal skin care results. Our priority is to help you achieve and maintain healthy, radiant skin. We would recommend using the Cream Soap suggested for mild cleansing of delicate skin. Follow with the Chamomile Cleansing Lotion to instantly soothe dry, sensitive skin. Chamomile Extract is a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient that helps to calm skin immediately. The Control Cream is enriched with Balsam Peru, a tree bark extract that soothes and reduces redness and irritation on the skin. This protective cream may be used morning and night to effectively moisturize and to calm sensitive skin. Enriched with skin-soothing botanicals, use the Calma Mask 2-3 times a week for 15 minutes to alleviate irritation and redness. In areas of extreme inflammation, apply a thin layer of the Control Cream underneath the mask.

I have been taking two chemotherapy drugs (Tarceva and Zometa). The good news is that they are containing the cancer, but they also dry my skin to a remarkable degree. I have tried cleansers, treatments and moisturizers from Nia24, Eucerin, Aveeno, DHC and Scosh, as well as Aquaphor. I am still so dry that my skin flakes off all over my body as well as my face. Any ideas about which products I might try?...Read Response (asked by Laura S. of Phoenix, AZ) |

First of all, we are glad you are feeling better. Since the two chemotherapy drugs (Tarceva and Zometa) you are using to control the cancer caused extreme dryness on the face and body, we can recommend a hydrating regimen that will soothe and nourish your skin. The Cream Soap may be used twice daily to gently cleanse sensitive skin types. Follow with the Chamomile Cleansing Lotion toner to help instantly soothe dry sensitive skin. The Chamomile Eye Cream may be used under the eye area morning and night. The skin around the eyes is very delicate, thin, and susceptible to damage. Wrinkles and fine lines are made more obvious when skin is dry, so keeping the area moisturized will keep it looking supple, and fine lines will be less obvious. Use the Complex Moisturizer With Vitamin E (SPF-20) daily after toning. It contains Vitamins A & E and Hyaluronic Acid to lock in skins natural moisture along with a high SPF for daily protection. Lastly, the Protein Night Cream is the perfect night cream for you. Intense moisture replenishing night cream enriched with Vitamin A and collagen to reduce the effects of aging. As for dry skin on the body, we would recommend the Super Rich Olive Body Lotion. Creamy, rich Olive Oil based lotion restores moisture and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky without a greasy residue. Leaves skin feeling supple and nourished year round.

I thought it was rosacea, but after reading your description, I believe it is more couperose. What products are recommended for dry/mature/couperose skin? ...Read Response (asked by Lisa L. of San Pedro, CA) |

Since you have dry, mature, couperose skin we have the perfect regimen to help soothe, hydrate and protect your sensitive skin while it also helps to strengthen weakened capillaries. The Keratoplast Cream Soap not only washes away light make-up, but it also calms irritated blotchy skin. Our Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion containing Aloe Extract, Pollen Extract, and Keratoplast used in conjunction with the Kera Moisturizer will strengthen weakened capillaries and provide your skin with needed protein. To hydrate and refine apply the Chamomile Eye Cream which will help to minimize the appearance of fine lines. The Azulene Calming Mask moisturizes, minimizes redness, and is great for soothing irritation. Finally apply our Vitacel Moist Cream at night to relieve any dryness, restore moisture and help to strengthen weakened capillaries.

Being your skin is oily in some areas and dry in others, you have combination skin, the most common skin type. Because each area has its own needs, combination skin is the most difficult to care for properly and requires the proper selection of skin care products. We recommend a regimen using our Seaweed Cleansing Soap containing small grains of seaweed to gently exfoliate the skin while cleansing. Followed by the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion, a mild astringent to disinfect and soothe skin while removing pore clogging dirt and oil. To help retain your skins natural moisture, use our Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream which will reduce the look of dry, tired eyes. Apply the Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF-17) during the day to help hydrate your skin while adding daily sun protection, then at night using the A.H.A. & Ceramide Moisturizer will rejuvenate dull, congested skin. Two to three times a week the Flower & Tonic Mask will deep clean your skin while lifting dirt and impurities that cause blackheads and breakouts. The Drying Cream, a spot treatment with light concealing qualities, can be used daily to dry and heal pimples that are inflamed and infected. Our famous Drying Lotion, which contains Salicylic Acid and Calamine to help heal and soothe eruptions, is an excellent spot treatment for those stubborn surface whiteheads.
