The bottle of drying lotion I bought about 1 year ago is losing its hydration. There is still about 1/3 of a bottle of pink stuff on the bottom, but most of the liquid is gone. Can I rehydrate it and if so how? I love this product. Thank you....Read Response (asked by M. Babb) |

Thank you for your interest in Mario Badescu Skin Care. The life span of the .Drying Lotion all depends on the frequency of use. When the liquid portion of the product is gone, it is an indication to purchase a new one. I would recommend applying the solution with q-tips that have very minimal cotton on the head. After you insert the q-tip into the bottle, gently tap the q-tip against the interior rim to squeeze out any excess liquid. Please do not add any liquid and discard the current bottle

Dear Ms. Wong
Thank you for your interest in Mario Badescu Skin Care. Each of the products that you have is meant for serving a specific anti acne purpose.
The Drying Lotion is a great spot treatment made with a blend of calamine and salicylic acid to dry up surfaced whitehead pimples overnight.
To use: Do not shake- Insert a q-tip to the bottom of the bottle then dab directly on top of surfaced whitehead pimple before bedtime and leave on overnight.
Buffering Lotion is a spot treatment for deeply rooted cystic blemishes-helps to calm inflammation and promote healing.
To use: Shake well then apply 1-2 drops on any deep cystic blemish using finger tip to apply on any deep cystic blemishes to promote healing.
Anti-Acne Serum is a 2% salicylic acid based gel that helps to keep acne at bay.
To use: Apply 3-4 drops on acne prone areas of the face before bedtime to gently exfoliate surface dull skin build up and to keep it smooth and clear

I have used Mario Badescu for many years and now have a daughter who is 10 years old and is showing signs of acne on her forehead. She has little bumps on her mid forehead. My question… is she old enough to start using these products? If so what do you recommend so that she can begin a daily routine?...Read Response (asked by Leocadia M. of Jersey City, NJ) |
|
Thank you for your interest in Mario Badescu Skin Care. Since your daughter is very young I would recommend that she uses just a couple of products and to keep her regimen simple until she enters her earlier teen years. If your 10 year old daughter is showing early signs of minor bumps and blemishes she may be experiencing a bit more oil production, especially on the t-zone area. I would suggest that she use the Enzyme Cleansing Gel twice daily to gently cleanse her skin then follow with the Aloe Lotion toner. The Aloe Lotion is a very soothing, mild toner with 2% alcohol to remove excess oils and impurities, for best results use twice daily after cleansing. I would start off with these two products first then consider expanding on her regimen within the next couple of years.

I just want to ask what is the shelf life of the Drying Lotion? I live in a humid tropical country. Will the product last if I put it in the refrigerator? Usually, a bottle will last me for a year or a year and a half......Read Response (asked by Lulu T. of Unknown) |
|
No worries, the shelf life of the Drying Lotion is approximately one year. Its not neccessary to store in the refrigerator, however, its important to keep the cap tightly closed. The lifespan of the Drying Lotion all depends on the frequency of use. When the liquid portion is gone, it is an indication to purchase a new one. I would recommend applying the solution with q-tips that have minimal cotton on the head. After inserting the q-tip into the bottle, gently tap the q-tip against the interior rim to squeeze out any excess liquid. Please do not add any liquid to the bottle at any point.

I have been using Mario Badescu products for a couple months now and so far I am very pleased with the results. I am 20 years old and I have been struggling with acne for many years now, and my acne has been clearing up thanks to the Mario Badescu products but I am noticing that I have a lot of sun spots, acne scars and little pimples on my forehead. Could you suggest any products that would help? I am also wondering what you would recommend for a day and night moisturizer and also an eye cream. I am also noticing little white dots under my eyes. Any ideas? Products? Thank you so much! I love Mario Badescu products!...Read Response (asked by Sarah M. of East Peoria, IL) |

We are glad to hear that you have had such positive results with our skin care line. In regards to sun spots and old acne scars, I recommend using the Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF-17). It will help to balance your skin and ensure that your skin does not become too dry. In addition, it will offer daily sun protection to prevent further discoloration of any hyper-pigmentation. The Glycolic Foaming Cleanser will deep clean your skin and promote gentle cell turnover to help remove surface dull skin build up. With consistent use, it will even out skin tone and improve the overall texture of your skin. We recommend that you use it 1-2 times a week in place of your regular cleanser. The "little white dots" that you have under your eyes may be Milia. Milia are deep seeded white bumps that form when skin cells become trapped rather than exfoliate naturally. They should be taken care of by a dermatologist. In the meantime, avoid the use of any eye creams, especially heavier ones. You may however use the Ceramide Eye Gel, an ultra-lightweight hydrating eye gel that can be stored in the refrigerator. Use a little morning and night to soften the delicate eye area while it calms down any under eye the puffiness.

My daughter just turned twelve and she has the occasional pimple (usually small not much pus). Is she too young to use your acne products? If not, what products would you recommend? I thought about purchasing the Drying Lotion to apply to the pimples when she gets one. Would she need any other products?...Read Response (asked by Lupe K. of Avondale, AZ) |
|
Since your daughter is twelve years old and she experiences the occasional pimple, I would recommend a simple, mild regimen to help keep her skin clean and healthy. I would suggest that she begin using the Enzyme Cleansing Gel twice daily. This non-foaming, gel cleanser thoroughly removes dirt and oil without drying the skin. Papaya Extracts are exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids that helps prevent dull skin build-up that can cause blackheads and pimples. After cleansing, follow with the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion toner. This witch hazel formula gently removes pore clogging oils and disinfects sensitive skin to prevent blackheads. It is important to use a deep pore cleansing mask such as the Flower & Tonic Mask. Use it 2-3 times a week for 15 minutes to remove impurities and excess oils to prevent clogged pores and blemishes. One other product that your daughter would need to complete her regimen is the Drying Lotion. It will help to effectively dry up any surfaced whiteheads overnight.

I was wondering if you had any advice for me. I do not have acne on my face, only the odd pimple once in a while, but I do have acne on my arms, from the elbows up. They are bumpy and have pimples on them. I do not like to show my arms because of this. Do you have a product that can help my situation? Thanks so much!...Read Response (asked by Jordan F. of Oakville) |
|
If you are experiencing acne on your arms, I would recommend the following products to help clean and clear the skin. I would suggest using the A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap to gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Papaya and grapefruit extracts help to breakdown dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores leaving skin looking healthy. After cleansing, apply the Special Cleansing Lotion O (For chest and back only). It is a disinfecting astringent that will dry up existing blemishes and prevent future eruptions. It is an anti-bacterial solution specifically formulated to help fight acne flare-ups on the body. It is important to avoid using any type of sponges or scrubs on the breakout areas. After showering, gently pat dry with a clean towel, do not rub dry. Rubbing the skin will only cause irritation and possibly lead to further breakouts. As for spot treatments, the Drying Lotion is an effective overnight treatment for surfaced whiteheads. Lastly, for stubborn cystic acne, we suggest using the Sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a lightweight liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes.

I am 30 years old and have very oily skin. I use oil-free products and after an hour or two at work my face is oily all over. My skin is prone to breakouts at times. Could you please let me know what products of yours may work; as in a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, mask, and etc.?...Read Response (asked by Alyssa H. of East Meadow, NY) |

Our customized regimens consist of specific products meant to help your various skin concerns. Being that you have oily skin, it is important to select a regimen that will help to control excess oil while it prevents breakouts. Contains Balsam Peru to help calm skin and reduce redness. If your skin is constantly oily and shining all day, you should use a clay based mask such as the Special Mask For Oily Skin to absorb and control excess oil output. For dull, congested skin, use the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week instead of the Botanical Facial Gel. Glycolic Acid helps to break down dead skin build-up from skins surface, reduce minor discoloration and leave skin radiant and smooth. I have had adult acne for four years, since I became pregnant with my son. I have tried Benzoyl Peroxide products, Salicylic Acid, Clindamycin, Differin Gel, antibiotics, getting monthly facials, and it still continues! I also have dark purple scarring that is very embarrassing and cannot be covered up. The main problem area is my jaw line/chin. Can you suggest anything?...Read Response (asked by Gina L. of Neptune, NJ) |

Acne occurs when the pores of the skin become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples. Excessive secretion of oils from the glands combine with naturally occurring dead skin cells to block the hair follicles. Oil secretions build up beneath the blocked pore, providing a perfect environment for the skin bacteria. The best means to prevent acne is to maintain a proper skin care regimen. It is also important to make sure that you are not picking or squeezing any of the blemishes. It can spread the bacteria and cause unwanted scarring in the process. Although you have tried Benzoyl Peroxide, Differin, and other antibiotics, you may respond better to Sulfur, our primary acne fighting ingredient. The Acne Facial Cleanser (New) which contains 2% Salicylic Acid will help to encourage the sloughing of surface dead skin cells. This purifying cleanser will remove dirt and oil while preventing clogged pores and breakouts. Follow with the Special Cucumber Lotion, an anti-bacterial solution that will help to disinfect skin and discourage acne flare-ups. Follow with the Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF-17) to keep skin well hydrated and protected. Using a daily SPF will prevent the darker acne scars from further discoloration. Use the Drying Mask two to three times a week to combat blemishes and impurities. Formulated for acne prone skin, this Sulfur based mask will help to absorb excessive oil as it combats blemishes and impurities. Alternate twice a week with the Healing & Soothing Mask which contains a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient Balsam Peru to relieve acne related redness and irritation. For oily, dull, congested skin, use the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week instead of the Acne Facial Cleanser (New). Glycolic Acid helps to break down dead skin build-up from skins surface, reduce minor acne discoloration and leave skin radiant and smooth. The Drying Lotion is the perfect overnight spot treatment for surfaced whiteheads. Lastly, for stubborn cystic acne, the best spot treatment is the Sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a light, liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes. Our customized regimens consist of specific products meant to help various skin concerns. Consistent use will offer optimal skin care results. Our priority is to help you achieve and maintain healthy, radiant skin.
