The bottle of drying lotion I bought about 1 year ago is losing its hydration. There is still about 1/3 of a bottle of pink stuff on the bottom, but most of the liquid is gone. Can I rehydrate it and if so how? I love this product. Thank you....Read Response (asked by M. Babb) |

Thank you for your interest in Mario Badescu Skin Care. The life span of the .Drying Lotion all depends on the frequency of use. When the liquid portion of the product is gone, it is an indication to purchase a new one. I would recommend applying the solution with q-tips that have very minimal cotton on the head. After you insert the q-tip into the bottle, gently tap the q-tip against the interior rim to squeeze out any excess liquid. Please do not add any liquid and discard the current bottle

I just want to ask what is the shelf life of the Drying Lotion? I live in a humid tropical country. Will the product last if I put it in the refrigerator? Usually, a bottle will last me for a year or a year and a half......Read Response (asked by Lulu T. of Unknown) |

No worries, the shelf life of the Drying Lotion is approximately one year. Its not neccessary to store in the refrigerator, however, its important to keep the cap tightly closed. The lifespan of the Drying Lotion all depends on the frequency of use. I bought your Drying Lotion and I left it out by mistake. My daughter saw the bottle and shook it, thinking she was doing me a favor mixing the pink and the clear lotion. I was wondering if the solution will settle over time or is the bottle totally ruined....Read Response (asked by Denise J. of Unknown) |

If the Drying Lotion is accidentally shaken, no worries, the product is perfectly fine. Simply set the Drying Lotion down to allow the product to separate and resettle. It is an excellent spot treatment for surfaced whiteheads. Before using, insert a q-tip into the bottle than dab directly onto surfaced whiteheads at bedtime and leave on overnight.

I’m wondering if you have a product that would help a cluster of under-the-skin bumps (they have not broken the surface yet, but are constantly there, like a pimple that never goes away). I tried a sample of the Drying Cream, and it helped somewhat but they never fully disappeared. I saw an e-mail for Silver Powder, and I was wondering if that would help. Please let me know your thoughts. ...Read Response (asked by Jodi T. of Vancouver, WA) |

Since you are experiencing deep cystic blemishes, I would recommend our Buffering Lotion as the best spot treatment. It will help to bring down the inflammation and heal the blemish. I would also recommend that you use a complete skin care regimen to help maintain healthy skin and to prevent breakouts. To help prevent the build-up of dead skin, washing twice daily with Enzyme Cleansing Gel will maintain the skins moisture as well as gently cleanse. Using the Special Cucumber Lotion after cleansing will disinfect the skin and prevent future breakouts. Applying the Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF-17) daily will hydrate and moisturize your skin while adding a daily sun protection. To control breakouts our Drying Mask will reduce surface oiliness while drying up acne prone or acne affected areas. The Healing & Soothing Mask will calm and soothe acne related redness and irritation while promoting the healing of blemishes.

My 17 year old son has tried everything and I mean everything. Nothing helps. He gets cystic acne, blackheads and whiteheads. It is all over his face and some on his chest and back. He is a runner and his skin is very oily all the time! We see a dermatologist and nothing works, it just makes him even oilier. My main question is do these products contain the same drug as Sulfa drugs? Some say they are Sulfur based; I’m assuming that if someone is allergic to Sulfa drugs then they cannot use them. I feel so sorry for him because he is a great looking kid; they took the acne away on his senior pictures and he is model material. He doesn’t want to ask a girl our because of his skin. We wash everything, sheets, etc. in hot water and tide free. We even tried apple fasting and micro-derm abrasion. I would be willing to put him as an advertisement for you if you just fix it ASAP. Can you recommend what we need? Please help him!...Read Response (asked by Jan H. of Atlanta, GA) |

Based on the information that you have provided regarding your 17 year old sons acne prone skin, I am recommending a product regimen for oily, acne prone skin. Many of our Sulfur based products are beneficial for acne prone skin types however, since Sulfa is related to it, it is best to avoid it. The Acne Facial Cleanser (New) which contains 2% Salicylic Acid will help to encourage the sloughing of surface dead skin cells. This will prevent clogged pores and future blemishes. He can follow with the Alcohol-free Seaweed Cleansing Lotion which is a Witch Hazel based toner that will help to soften and purify the skin. After using the toner, I would recommend Control Moisturizer For Oily Skin. It is an excellent daytime moisturizer that will help to calm and soothe acne related redness. The deep pore cleansing Cucumber Tonic Mask should be used 2-3 times a week for 15-20 minutes to absorb excess oils and prevent clogged pores. He should avoid using any abrasive scrubs while experiencing breakouts. However, I would suggest the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week at night to deep clean, gently exfoliate surface dead skin to prevent blackheads and even out discoloration from old acne scars. The Drying Lotion is the perfect overnight spot treatment for surfaced whiteheads. For more stubborn cystic acne, the Buffering Lotion will help to calm the inflammation and promote healing.
