The bottle of drying lotion I bought about 1 year ago is losing its hydration. There is still about 1/3 of a bottle of pink stuff on the bottom, but most of the liquid is gone. Can I rehydrate it and if so how? I love this product. Thank you....Read Response (asked by M. Babb) |

Thank you for your interest in Mario Badescu Skin Care. The life span of the .Drying Lotion all depends on the frequency of use. When the liquid portion of the product is gone, it is an indication to purchase a new one. I would recommend applying the solution with q-tips that have very minimal cotton on the head. After you insert the q-tip into the bottle, gently tap the q-tip against the interior rim to squeeze out any excess liquid. Please do not add any liquid and discard the current bottle

I just want to ask what is the shelf life of the Drying Lotion? I live in a humid tropical country. Will the product last if I put it in the refrigerator? Usually, a bottle will last me for a year or a year and a half......Read Response (asked by Lulu T. of Unknown) |

No worries, the shelf life of the Drying Lotion is approximately one year. Its not neccessary to store in the refrigerator, however, its important to keep the cap tightly closed. The lifespan of the Drying Lotion all depends on the frequency of use. When the liquid portion is gone, it is an indication to purchase a new one. I would recommend applying the solution with q-tips that have minimal cotton on the head. After inserting the q-tip into the bottle, gently tap the q-tip against the interior rim to squeeze out any excess liquid. Please do not add any liquid to the bottle at any point.

I live in Utah where the air is always SUPER dry. Winter is coming on and it also gets very cold. Added to that, the air here in the valley from Salt Lake to Provo is always very smoggy and polluted. As a result, I always have problems with acne around my chin, forehead, and the corners of my nose. My forehead has a problem with small bumps. The corners of my nose will sometimes develop whiteheads. My chin is much like my forehead and it will also get small bumps. From the cold and the dry air, my cheeks get extremely dry and flakey. Even after using moisturizer, they are dry and flakey just a couple of hours later. I need the ultimate skin care regimen. What can I do?...Read Response (asked by Cody W. of Provo, UT) |

Since we are in the middle of the winter season and you live in a climate where the air is always dry it is important to use a gentle cleansing hydrating regimen to keep the skin moisturized. I would recommend using the Orange Cleansing Soap twice daily as a mild cream based cleanser. It contains orange extract to discourage dull skin build up and keeps the skin feeling soft and clean. Follow with the alcohol free, witch hazel based Seaweed Cleansing Lotion morning and night to help nourish and disinfect the skin. With the cold weather contributing to further dry, flakey skin, I would suggest using one of our protective day creams instead of a regular moisturizer. Protective day creams contain less water content and offers optimal protection from cold temperatures and harsh winds. Use the cold weather Orange Protective Cream daily on dry areas to prevent skin from becoming dehydrated. The orange extract helps to promote mild exfoliation to discourage dull skin build up. To keep skin nourished, use a weekly hydrating mask for 15-20 minutes such as the Enzyme Revitalizing Mask to keep skin soft and hydrated. Gently exfoliate your skin with the Almond & Honey Face Scrub 2-3 times a week to slough off flakey skin on the surface to prevent clogged pores and small bumps. Before bedtime, apply the Seaweed Night Cream, a non-greasy, oil-free night cream enriched with Seaweed, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid to soften, hydrate and nourish the skin without clogging pores. This night cream will leave the skin feeling soft and silky. For the occasional surfaced whitehead pimples that you experience, the Drying Lotion will help to dry it up overnight. The most effective spot treatment for deep bumps is the sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a light, liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes.

I bought your Drying Lotion and I left it out by mistake. My daughter saw the bottle and shook it, thinking she was doing me a favor mixing the pink and the clear lotion. I was wondering if the solution will settle over time or is the bottle totally ruined....Read Response (asked by Denise J. of Unknown) |
|
If the Drying Lotion is accidentally shaken, no worries, the product is perfectly fine. Simply set the Drying Lotion down to allow the product to separate and resettle. It is an excellent spot treatment for surfaced whiteheads. Before using, insert a q-tip into the bottle than dab directly onto surfaced whiteheads at bedtime and leave on overnight.

My girlfriend is living this year in a city with a lot of air pollution, dust, and other pollutants (Lima, Peru) and unfortunately her face is consistently breaking out as a result, and her face is becoming splotchy and dry from the cleansers she is using. She is interested in buying products ASAP that will combat this problem, and I was wondering which products would be most effective....Read Response (asked by Aaron M. of Unknown) |

Since your girlfriend is temporarily living in a city with a high degree of air pollution, dust and dirty air particles settling on her skin that can certainly play a role in clogging pores which may lead to bacteria build up and acne. Due to the constant exposure she has to the air pollutants, it is imperative that she use a daily skin care regimen that will help deep clean the impurities without over-drying her skin. First, I would recommend the Enzyme Cleansing Gel to gently cleanse the skin. It is enriched with Papaya and Grapefruit Extracts to help discourage dead skin build up and clogged pores. Follow with the Special Cucumber Lotion, an anti-bacterial solution that will help to disinfect skin and discourage acne flare-ups. Then she should apply a thin layer of the Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF-17) to keep skin well hydrated and protected. Use the Flower & Tonic Mask 2-3 times a week for 15 minutes to gently deep clean the pores. This is a combination purifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin types. The Kaolin based formula absorbs dirt and oil from pores while the soothing botanical Balsam Peru ingredient soothes minor redness and irritation. For the occasional surfaced whiteheads she may experience, the Drying Lotion will help to dry it up overnight. The best spot treatment for deep bumps is the Sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a light, liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes.

I am 51 years old and have acne (clogged pores, oily, and sometimes dry, and flaky skin) and rosacea. I am so frustrated -- how do I treat my skin with your products? I have clogged pores, and I am getting white bumps under my skin that do not come up. I have had rosacea for about 20 years now, and since I went into menopause it has gotten worse. How do I treat the clogged pores on my nose, cheeks, forehead and chin without making my rosacea worse? I do get pustules from the rosacea occasionally, but I am noticing more and more broken capillaries showing especially when I use milder acne medications. What do you recommend? Thanks....Read Response (asked by Jeanie F. of Annandale, VA) |
|
Based on the information that you provided regarding your skin type (combination/sensitive skin with acne/rosacea) it is necessary to use a very mild regimen to gently cleanse your skin without aggravating the rosacea. I would suggest using the Cream Soap twice daily to cleanse and soothe delicate skin. Follow with the alcohol free Seaweed Cleansing Lotion toner. This non-drying toner cleans and disinfects dry and sensitive skin to prevent blackheads. Mild Witch Hazel formula removes pore clogging debris while Aloe Extract soothes sensitive areas. Use the oil-free Aloe Moisturizer (SPF-15) daily to soften dry skin without clogging pores. Prevent pores from clogging by using the Flower & Tonic Mask 1-2 times a week on the t-zone. This is a combination purifying and calming mask for sensitive, congested skin types. Use the Calma Mask on alternating days to instantly calm redness. The Kaolin based formula absorbs oil from pores while soothing botanical Balsam Peru ingredient soothes minor redness and irritation. To spot treat surfaced whiteheads, use the Drying Lotion to help dry them up overnight. The most effective spot treatment for deep bumps is the Sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a light, liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes.

My daughter just turned twelve and she has the occasional pimple (usually small not much pus). Is she too young to use your acne products? If not, what products would you recommend? I thought about purchasing the Drying Lotion to apply to the pimples when she gets one. Would she need any other products?...Read Response (asked by Lupe K. of Avondale, AZ) |
|
Since your daughter is twelve years old and she experiences the occasional pimple, I would recommend a simple, mild regimen to help keep her skin clean and healthy. I would suggest that she begin using the Enzyme Cleansing Gel twice daily. This non-foaming, gel cleanser thoroughly removes dirt and oil without drying the skin. Papaya Extracts are exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids that helps prevent dull skin build-up that can cause blackheads and pimples. After cleansing, follow with the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion toner. This witch hazel formula gently removes pore clogging oils and disinfects sensitive skin to prevent blackheads. It is important to use a deep pore cleansing mask such as the Flower & Tonic Mask. Use it 2-3 times a week for 15 minutes to remove impurities and excess oils to prevent clogged pores and blemishes. One other product that your daughter would need to complete her regimen is the Drying Lotion. It will help to effectively dry up any surfaced whiteheads overnight.

I do not t really have that bad of a complexion but there are times where I just want to rip my face off. I always get pimples in the same spots on my face and they are on the corner of each side of my chin and my right cheek. I also get these very light little bumps that are not pimples but under the skin and sometimes will turn into one and have blackheads on my nose and chin and they really bother me. What regimen would you suggest for my skin type? I am also am very sensitive and have very light skin....Read Response (asked by Linsey S. of Largo, FL) |

Having combination/sensitive with occasional blemishes, it sounds as though one of our gentle cleansing product regimens for combination skin would effectively help improve your skin. I would first recommend using the Enzyme Cleansing Gel twice daily to cleanse skin and remove oil and impurities. Follow with our Seaweed Cleansing Lotion, which is a non-drying, non-alcohol toner that cleans and disinfects dry and sensitive skin. This is a combination purifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin types. I was wondering if you had any advice for me. I do not have acne on my face, only the odd pimple once in a while, but I do have acne on my arms, from the elbows up. They are bumpy and have pimples on them. I do not like to show my arms because of this. Do you have a product that can help my situation? Thanks so much!...Read Response (asked by Jordan F. of Oakville) |
|
If you are experiencing acne on your arms, I would recommend the following products to help clean and clear the skin. I would suggest using the A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap to gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Papaya and grapefruit extracts help to breakdown dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores leaving skin looking healthy. After cleansing, apply the Special Cleansing Lotion O (For chest and back only). It is a disinfecting astringent that will dry up existing blemishes and prevent future eruptions. It is an anti-bacterial solution specifically formulated to help fight acne flare-ups on the body. It is important to avoid using any type of sponges or scrubs on the breakout areas. After showering, gently pat dry with a clean towel, do not rub dry. Rubbing the skin will only cause irritation and possibly lead to further breakouts. As for spot treatments, the Drying Lotion is an effective overnight treatment for surfaced whiteheads. Lastly, for stubborn cystic acne, we suggest using the Sulfur based Buffering Lotion. It is a lightweight liquid antiseptic solution to soothe and heal cystic blemishes.
