Top 5 Tips for Healthy Skin

Beautiful skin isn’t just in the skincare: it’s a reflection of your lifestyle too. You are what you do, so always be conscious of your daily habits. If there are changes or improvements that need to be made, remember that slow and steady wins the race. Adopt these simple changes one by one (lifestyle changes take time and dedication!) and you’ll look – and feel – like a million bucks.

Drink water throughout the day. Dehydration leaves your complexion dull and sunken, highlighting fine lines and discoloration. Keep hydrated and you’ll find that your skin looks noticeably brighter, plumper, and younger. It’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference.

Feed your skin. You are what you eat, so give your complexion the nutrients it needs. Be sure to check out our guide to healthy food for healthy skin.

Get up and go out. Even if it’s a daily walk after lunch, get out and do it! Not only does it get the blood flowing for improved circulation, but it also helps eliminate toxins by helping you sweat the bad stuff out. (Just be sure to follow a good post-workout beauty regimen to keep your skin balanced.)

Keep calm and carry on. Set aside at least 10 minutes a day for yourself – and do with it what you will. Wake up early and stretch. Go through sun salutations. Spend a little extra time on your beauty regimen. Indulge in a favorite dessert. Read before bed. Light a few candles and run a bath. Those ten minutes are yours alone and yours to keep. Never underestimate the power of de-stressing and taking the time just relax and breathe. It’ll do wonders for your complexion.

Sleep. There’s no magic number when it comes to how much sleep you should get, but do make sure you get at least seven to ten hours of sleep a night – we don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing.
