Fixing The Worst Skin Mistakes

Even with the best intentions, we all make mistakes with our skin. But no worries, you can still leave the house! We'll show you how...

red skin

You picked or squeezed a pimple and now it looks worse than before

As highly addicting as this habit is, do your best to keep your hands off your skin in the future. Picking or squeezing blemishes can cause Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (discoloration). If your face now has an angry area of red skin, apply a disinfecting toner first and then a product that can help you heal and conceal.

You partied (or studied) until 3 a.m. and now you have tired, puffy eyes

Place a cool tea bag underneath your eyes for 10 minutes, and then apply a small amount of an eye gel on the under-eye area. For optimum results, keep your eye gel refrigerated; the cool sensation will help constrict blood vessels to help alleviate puffiness.

You fell asleep without washing the makeup off your face (oops) or you just decided not to (tsk, tsk).

Yes, we’ve all committed this ‘skin sin’ from time to time, but not to worry. As soon as you wake up the next morning, give yourself an at-home mini facial:

  • Cleanse with your usual, daily cleanser;
  • Exfoliate with a gentle scrub in circular motions and rinse well with lukewarm water;
  •  Apply a mask. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm or tepid water;
  • Apply a toner according to your skin type;
  • Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

You enjoyed the great outdoors in the winter with little to no moisturizer, and now your skin is dry and flaky

Apply a hydrating serum or nourishing oil underneath your moisturizer.

You enjoyed the great outdoors in the summer with little to no sunscreen and now your skin sunburned

It's time for- you guessed it!- ALOE.

Everyone deserves second (or third) chances. Fix your skincare mistakes with these quick solutions!
