Did you know that there is such a thing as over-cleansing? The universal rule of “too much of a good thing can be bad” also applies when it comes to washing your face—especially when you have acne.
While keeping your complexion clean is a key component to hygiene and basic skincare, the skin needs to be cleansed only twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Anything more will stress the skin and strip it of its natural protection. Over-cleansing depletes the skin of its natural oils and, in turn, causes it to produce even more oil, which can lead to more acne. Cut back on over-cleansing, and incorporate a toner for your skin type into your daily skincare regimen to piggyback on the cleansing process without stressing your complexion. Have you broken the bad habit of over-cleansing once and for all? How has your skin thanked you?Related Articles
