A New Solution For Dry Skin: Serums

Today we have another guest blog from our dry-skinned friend Jessika McGinnis:

Let’s talk about Serums and Emulsions... As a girl with dry skin, it’s important for me to stay hydrated, not only on the inside (I’m a health food junkie and a juicer guru) but outside as well. I constantly suffer from dry patches on my face – usually around my nose and cheek bone area. If I’m not careful, I can easily ruin the rest of my skin by overexfoliating dry, flaky skin or over-moisturizing. Trying to find a happy balance is something I strive for, especially in the fall and winter months. (And yes, for many of us, those months are coming.)

I love, love, love the Hyaluronic Emulsion with Vitamin C! These lovely drops can be used under my favorite moisturizer (the Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30) to retain more of my own moisture and improve my skin almost immediately. This emulsion is great for those who have sensitive skin and it will help save my skin from wrinkling too soon – also very important for us dry-skinned folks (and a win-win for me!) Here are a few other reasons to check out some Serums and Emulsions:

Herbal Hydrating Serum: I know Lee Ann and Kim have raved about this in past blog posts; it’s great for EVERYONE. Really, I promise it is. For oily skin, it can be used as a moisturizer alternative and won’t congest those precious pores. For dry skin, add it over your regular moisturizer to add a healthy, refreshed glow. Sensitive skinned folks can get a boost of soothing care from Ginseng and Gingko extracts.

Cellufirm Drops: Safe to use around the eye area, this emulsion will help with any fine lines or wrinkles you might have and enhance firmness. Wonderful to use at night under your favorite MB night cream and eye cream! Summer’s ending, and with a new season comes cute fall boots and cozy sweaters—it’s also time to at least start thinking about revamping your skin care regimen. Embracing the boost of a serum or emulsion could be your first start!
