Skin Sin Series: Going To Bed Without Washing Your Face

Perhaps you’ve experienced this multiple times (or at least once in your life): you had one too many cocktails with your cronies and stumble in at 4 a.m., ready to hit the sack. The problem is, you can't muster up the strength to wash the makeup off your face. You think it's good enough to wipe your smoky eye makeup off with a cleansing wipe and call it a night. The following morning, your fake lashes are probably still dangling off your eye. Shamefully, I admit, I’ve committed this skin sin numerous times (I’m not proud of it) but when I’m overly exhausted, the last thing I care about is my face.

Let’s take a closer look at what happens when this skin sin is committed, shall we? What happens when you go to bed without washing your face? Sleeping with makeup on creates a breeding ground for debris, oil and bacteria to have a fiesta on your face. Doing so can clog your pores and thus cause breakouts. Not cool. Moreover, sleeping with eye makeup on can cause eye irritation the following day. Is it worth the effort to fight the fatigue and wash your face before bedtime? I’d say so.
